Project Challenges:
A German customer approached us seeking a new micro vibration motor supplier for the supermarket Hand-held bar code scanners.
This device is well established in the market, but they are experiencing an unacceptably high number of IQC coil broken motor failures from their current suppliers.
They are also concerned about the vibration performance of current motors. So they decided to replace the current vibrating motor with one more professional manufacturer. And the motor type is preferably a spring alternative.
The customer modified the specification to include a more stringent vibration force target.
Solution:
To provide this alternative part, our motors must fit into the client’s current housing space design, which is not possible to redesign. Customers also have strict limits on rated current and lifetime value.
We adopted the existing mechanical design and adjusted the winding of the motor, adding the production process of protecting the coil broken. This can meet their size, performance and current specification requirements.
We tested samples of our new motor on our lifetime test machine and vibation force tester. And the tests proved that our solution meets the durability requirements specified in the new regulations.
Results:
We gradually increase the production from 100PCS to 1KPCS and enter the mass production stage. In doing so, we eliminate quality degradation from old suppliers and avoid the risk of customers running out of stock.
Our solution is a one-time replacement, the customer does not need to redesign any shells or change any production tools.
In addition, because the alternatives have equivalent specifications, the customer is able to adopt the new component without having to resubmit the change request to his end customer.
