IND-12GMP12 is a 12mm small planetary gear motor built from a coreless DC motor and a metal planetary gearbox. It is used when you need reduction in a tight envelope and you still want a predictable mechanical interface for production assembly. The operating range on this page is 1–14V DC, with common rated voltage selections 1.5V / 3V / 7.4V / 12V.
The gearbox is offered as fixed stage configurations shown in the gearbox sheet: 4:1 (1 stage, L=13mm), 16:1 (2 stage, L=16mm), 64:1 (3 stage, L=19.5mm), and 256:1 (4 stage, L=23mm). That stage length matters in real hardware, so we recommend choosing ratio and stage together based on available axial space, target output speed, and required torque.
The performance table on this page is reference data from sample builds. Final output depends on your working point (load torque, duty cycle, temperature, and driver control). For end-stop mechanisms, current limiting is recommended to avoid extended stall events.

Start from your target output speed and required torque, then check the gearbox stage length (L=13/16/19.5/23mm). Higher ratios reduce speed and increase available torque, but also increase stage length. If you share rpm/torque and duty cycle, we can recommend a working point.
