Our client seeks a planetary gear motor with a diameter of 6mm or less, boasting substantial torque and an extended operational lifespan. This motor will be utilized in their handheld mid-infrared body warmer. The device is engineered to offer convenient single-handed wrist or calf size adjustments through magnetic control, as well as temperature settings (high, medium, and low), along with a detachable band tailored to accommodate various wrist or calf sizes.
Solution
We worked closely with the client’s team to develop two gear motor solutions. After testing, the plastic gear motor wasn’t chosen due to insufficient torque and output speed. The client ultimately opted for our 6mm metal planetary gear motor. Before preparing manufacturing fixtures and starting mass production, we conducted a thorough validation of the final solution in collaboration with the client.
Results
We developed and customized a 6mm planetary gear motor to address the unique design challenges faced by the client. This device, when worn on the wrist or calf, enhances the immune system by raising body temperature and proves highly beneficial in various aspects. Additionally, the device has received FDA certification and has been successfully introduced into the trial and secondary markets. We maintain ongoing communication with the client to support their future projects.
