A. Steel gears typically provide higher wear resistance and durability under repeated load cycles, while brass gears can be chosen to optimize noise behavior and cost depending on the application. The best choice depends on duty cycle, load spikes, and your noise/life targets.
A. There is a trade-off relationship between speed and torque. A higher transmission ratio will reduce the output speed, while increasing the available output torque and maintaining margin. Start from the required load speed, and then select a transmission ratio that can provide sufficient torque margin and does not frequently approach stall.
