♦ Overview:
The N30 Spur Gear Motor (IND-12GMN30) and the N20 Spur Gear Motor (IND-GM12N20) use the same open-frame spur gearhead. You can choose steel gears or brass gears.
Both gear motors have a 12 mm diameter housing. However, the N30 version uses a longer N30 motor (20 mm long), which is 5 mm longer than the N20 motor.
If your product has enough installation space, the N30 is also a great option.
For best and stable performance in mass production, please select the right gear ratio and motor winding based on your actual load and operating point, to match the required speed and torque.
Choose N30 spur gear motor when you need:
Runs cooler for longer (handles longer on‑time without overheating)
More torque without a bigger gearbox (same size, more strength)
More reliable in tough, repetitive use (better for frequent cycling / heavy duty)
Not sure whether to choose N20 or N30 gear motor? Read our N20 vs N30 gear motor spec guide.
A D‑shaft increases the coupler’s gripping force and helps reduce the risk of slipping. It also improves assembly consistency for hubs or gears in compact drive systems.
D‑shafts gear motor are widely used in smart locks, monitors/displays, printers, optical devices, and other precision instruments, where smooth motion and repeatable output are critical.
If you can share your target speed (RPM), required load torque, available installation length, and shaft interface requirements, our engineering team can recommend an optimized configuration and quickly provide samples and a mass‑production quotation.
We can offer steel/brass gears and carbon/metal brush options. After sample confirmation, INEED Motors supports repeatable builds and can provide batch inspection reports and COC upon request.
Customizable items: 1. Length and shape (A ); 2. Voltage, output speed, torque, etc. ; 3. Adding connectors, lead wires; 4. Adding gears to shaft; 5. Adding encoder.

A. Choose N30 when your duty cycle is longer, load spikes are higher, or you need more thermal/torque margin to reduce stall risk and improve reliability.
A. Yes. A D‑shaft increases anti‑slip capability and improves repeatability for press‑fit or set‑screw hubs, reducing assembly variation.
A. Yes. Provide supply voltage, target loaded RPM, estimated load torque, and duty cycle. We will recommend ratio, winding and interface options.
